Preflight vs Planable: approvals and agency price

Planable charges $39 to $59 per workspace with deep approval chains; Preflight is $24 for 20 channels and unlimited workspaces, with approval links and checks.

Updated · 3 min read · Prices and limits checked against the vendors' own pages and APIs on that date.

Planable is built around approval: the pricing is per workspace, one workspace for each client, brand or location, with unlimited users inside it, and its main promise is a workflow in which clients and colleagues sign off before a post is published. Preflight has approvals too, as a link that needs no client account, and prices by channel, not by workspace. This page compares what each costs for an agency-sized setup and where Planable goes deeper.

    Where Planable is ahead

    • Approval depth. Required approval, multi-level chains (team lead, client, legal), text annotations, suggested edits and bulk approval; Preflight's link has none of these.
    • Unlimited users per workspace at every plan, so the whole client team can comment at no extra cost.
    • Campaigns, labels, a feed and grid view for planning a month at a glance, and a built-in media editor.
    • X and Google Business Profile, which Preflight does not post to.
    • Enterprise features: SSO, a dedicated account manager, payment by bank transfer and listening add-ons.

    Where Preflight is ahead

    • The price of an agency roster. Five client workspaces with four pages each are $165 a month on Planable Basic billed yearly ($195 monthly), or $245 on Pro. Twenty channels with unlimited workspaces on Preflight Pro are $24. The plans are on the pricing page.
    • Analytics and inbox included, not sold as per-workspace add-ons.
    • Twelve networks, with Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord and Tumblr.
    • Checks before approval. A post that breaks a network's rules is flagged while it is written, before anyone is asked to approve it. See the limits page.
    • A permanent free plan with the API, where Planable's free allowance is a total of 50 posts.

    What they share

A calendar, drafts, approval before publishing, comments, a shared workspace for each client, an MCP connector, and posting to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest and Threads.

    Who should choose which

Choose Planable if clients are demanding reviewers, you need required or multi-level sign-off, annotations on the post, or you work in a large organisation with SSO.

Choose Preflight if you want a low flat price for many client channels, analytics and an inbox in the plan, twelve networks and rules checked before the client sees a post. The approach is described in the approval guide.

Planable's prices and limits read from planable.io/pricing on 28 October 2026; the yearly figures are those in the page's structured data, the monthly ones likewise. The Planable inbox add-on is listed at $7.50 in one place and $9 in another on the same page. Preflight's figures are from the pricing page the same day.

    Questions people ask

    How much does Planable cost?
Per workspace: Basic is $39 a month ($33 billed yearly) and Pro $59 ($49 yearly). Enterprise is custom. Analytics ($12) and the social inbox (about $7.50 to $9) are add-ons per workspace. The first 50 posts are free with no time limit.
Is Preflight an alternative to Planable?
For agencies and teams that need a client to approve posts, with less process, yes: Preflight has approval links that need no client account. If you need required or multi-level approval chains with annotations, Planable goes further.
    Does Planable charge per user?
No. It charges per workspace, and every plan includes unlimited users in each workspace. That makes it cost more as client count grows, where Preflight's cost follows channel count.
    Which networks does Planable support?
Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Google Business Profile, Pinterest and Threads. Preflight posts to twelve networks and adds Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord and Tumblr; it does not post to X or Google Business Profile.
Does Planable have an API and MCP server?
It lists an MCP connector on the Basic and Pro plans and the public API from Pro. Preflight offers the API and MCP server on every plan, including Free.

Preflight checks every post against each network's rules before it leaves, then publishes it to twelve networks. Free plan, no card.
