Facebook publishing is Pages only: the Graph API has had no way to post to a personal profile for years, and no scheduler can. For a Page it is the most complete API of the twelve. Preflight publishes text, link posts, albums of pictures, long video, Reels and stories to a Page, edits and deletes what it published, and runs the Page's comments.

What goes out
A text or link post up to 63,206 characters; up to ten pictures as an album; one video of up to 240 minutes and 10 GB, fetched by Facebook from Preflight rather than pushed; a Reel, which is one vertical video of 3 to 90 seconds; or a story, one picture or video with no caption. A first comment can carry the hashtags or the link; every picture takes alt text. Preflight fetches figures for views, likes, comments and shares, with watch time and average view duration on a video.
Connecting a Page
Log in with the Facebook account that manages the Page and pick the Page at the consent screen. Preflight stores the Page's own token, which is what publishes, and asks for the permissions to list Pages, publish, read engagement and content, manage comments and read the business the Page belongs to. If the Page has an Instagram Business account linked to it, that account is offered as a second connection in the same step.
What is checked before publishing
Pictures must be JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP or TIFF up to 10 MB, and more than ten are warned about as dropped. A Reel is refused if the video is landscape, smaller than 540 by 960, outside 3 to 90 seconds, or outside 24 to 60 frames per second, each with the measured value; a Reel setting on an album is pointed out as ignored. A story video is held to 3 to 60 seconds and 100 MB, and a story with text is told the text is not sent. Pictures and a video together go out as the first video only, and the composer says so. The same checks run on a post sent through the public API.
What the API will not do
Very little. A published post can be edited and deleted from Preflight. Comments are read, answered, hidden, liked and deleted, other people's included, because a Page may remove any comment from its own post. The exceptions are Facebook's: a Page story cannot be deleted through the API, so the button stays off for one, and a story reports no figures at all, so its row shows none rather than a line of dashes. Groups and personal profiles are not available through the API to anyone.
In the API
A Reel flag, a story placement, the first comment and alt text are fields in the API and parameters in the MCP server. Facebook Pages are included on every plan at pricing.
Questions people ask
- Can Preflight post to a personal Facebook profile?
- No, and neither can any other tool: the Graph API publishes to Pages only. Connect the Page you manage; a profile has no publishing endpoint.
- Can a Facebook post be edited after publishing?
- Yes. Facebook is one of the few networks whose API edits a published post, so a typo can be fixed from Preflight without deleting and reposting.
- Why can I not delete a Facebook story from Preflight?
- Facebook refuses the delete call on a Page story, so Preflight does not offer it. Published posts, albums, videos and Reels can be deleted; a story expires on its own after 24 hours.
