Schedule posts on a Facebook profile: what works

Can you schedule a post on a personal Facebook profile? Why tools and Business Suite only reach Pages, what is reported, and how to move to a Page.

Updated · 2 min read · Prices and limits checked against the vendors' own pages and APIs on that date.

You cannot schedule a post to a personal Facebook profile with a tool, and Meta's own scheduler is built for Pages, not profiles. The one route that works the same everywhere is to post as a Facebook Page: Pages can be scheduled in Meta Business Suite and by any scheduler that uses Meta's API. This page says why profiles are different, what the reported exceptions are, and how to move to a Page if scheduling matters to you.

Why a profile is different from a Page

Meta's publishing API writes to Pages and has no endpoint for a person's own profile. That is why no scheduler, Preflight included, lists a personal profile as a destination. The behaviour is Meta's choice and has not been a gap in any single tool.

What is reported but not verified here

Guides written by scheduling vendors say the Facebook app may offer a schedule option for a profile that is switched to professional mode, on mobile. We could not find Meta's own help page that confirms it, so treat it as unconfirmed: look for a clock or *Schedule* option in the post composer of your own app, and if it is there, it is a feature of the app and not of any tool.

How to schedule on Facebook anyway

    1. Create a Page from your profile. It is free, and the Page can carry your name or your brand.
    2. Give yourself a role that can create and manage content on the Page, which the creator has automatically.
    3. Schedule in Business Suite or connect the Page to a scheduler. In Preflight you log in with the Facebook account that manages the Page, tick the Page on Meta's consent screen, and the Page becomes a channel. Facebook Pages work on every plan, the free one included.
    4. Write the post once and send it to the other networks at the same minute if you want. The steps are on how to schedule Facebook posts and the connection is on the Facebook integration page.

What a Page post can hold

A Page post takes text, a link, one picture or an album of up to ten, one video, or a Reel. The figures for each are on the Facebook limits page.

If you must stay on a profile

Write the post in the app and post it when you want it. A reminder in a calendar is the honest tool for that job, since a scheduler cannot publish for you and a tool that claims to is either posting to a Page or asking you to confirm the post by hand.

Based on Preflight's connection to Meta's API and the Facebook page on this site, checked 1 November 2026. The mobile professional-mode option is reported by guides and not confirmed by Meta's help pages.

    Questions people ask

Can you schedule a post on a personal Facebook profile?
Not with a tool, because Meta's publishing API writes to Pages and has no endpoint for profiles. Meta Business Suite is built for Pages as well. Some guides report a schedule option in the app for professional-mode profiles on mobile, which we could not confirm.
How do I schedule Facebook posts if I only have a profile?
Create a Facebook Page from your profile, which is free, and schedule to the Page in Meta Business Suite or in a scheduler such as Preflight.
Can Preflight post to a personal Facebook profile?
No. Preflight publishes to Facebook Pages because Meta's API has no profile endpoint. A Page is one channel on any plan, including the free one.
Do I need to be an admin of the Page to schedule a post?
You need a role on the Page that can create and manage content, such as admin or editor. The account that connects the Page to Preflight must have that role.

Write it once. Let the rules be our problem.

Preflight checks every post against each network's rules before it leaves, then publishes it to twelve networks. Free plan, no card.
