When you connect Facebook to a scheduler, Meta shows a screen that asks which Pages to share. That screen decides everything after it, and it behaves in a way most people do not expect: Meta keeps one choice of Pages for each person and each app, across every workspace, and a new consent replaces the old choice instead of adding to it. Most "my Page disappeared" reports come from that one rule.
What Meta does with your choice
| You do | Meta does |
|---|---|
| Connect Facebook the first time and tick two Pages | The app can use those two Pages |
| Connect again from another workspace and tick only one new Page | The choice becomes that one Page; the two earlier ones are cut off |
| Connect again and tick everything | All of them are available again |
| Accept the permissions a second time | Permissions merge; they do not shrink |
The cut-off shows up as a Meta error 190 on the old channels, with the message that a permission must be granted before impersonating a user's Page. It looks like a bug in the scheduler and is the consequence of the single choice. It is not specific to one tool, and it was seen on a live account on 27 October 2026: ticking only the new Page cut off two older Pages and an Instagram account connected through one of them.
How to connect without losing Pages
- Tick every Page and Instagram account on Meta's screen, including the ones you do not plan to use in this workspace. Meta's list is what the app may use; the scheduler decides which of them to add.
- Choose which Pages to add inside the scheduler. Preflight shows its own list after Meta's screen: new Pages are suggested, Pages already used in another workspace of the same account are left unticked, and Pages that were lost are named with the workspace they belonged to. The plan's channel allowance is shown before you confirm.
- Reconnect existing channels from the same screen. Reconnecting renews the Pages already in this workspace, and those in sibling workspaces of the same billing account that belong to the same Facebook person, so one pass repairs them all.
The picker exists because the alternative, a scheduler that adds every Page you tick, would fill a plan's channels with Pages you never meant to post to. Ticking everything at Meta and choosing in the app avoids both problems.
Instagram through a Page
An Instagram professional account connected through Facebook is reached through its linked Page. Losing the Page (Meta subcode 492) therefore also loses the Instagram account behind it, which is why an Instagram channel can disappear when a Page does. The disconnect guide lists the codes.
Why a Page does not appear in the list
- You are not an admin of it. The list shows Pages you have a role on with enough rights to post.
- You did not tick it on Meta's screen, or a later consent ticked fewer.
- It is a personal profile. Meta's publishing API works for Pages; a personal profile or a group you do not administer is not available to a scheduler.
What this means for agencies
Clients whose Pages you manage must grant the same consent from the same Facebook person you connect with: the person whose Facebook account holds the roles. Keep that one person's Facebook login in order, because the single choice of Pages is attached to them. Meta's terms for what schedulers may do with the access are summarised on the Meta platform terms page.
The steps to connect are on the Facebook integration page, and posting rules are on the Facebook limits page. Facebook Pages are one channel each on any plan, the free one included.
Meta's behaviour observed live on 27 October 2026; Preflight's picker as built on 28 October 2026.
Questions people ask
- Why did my Facebook Page disappear after I connected another workspace?
- Meta keeps one choice of Pages per person and app, and a new consent replaces the old one. If the second consent ticked fewer Pages, the others are cut off. Reconnect and tick every Page.
- Should I tick all my Pages when connecting?
- Yes, on Meta's screen. That keeps every Page available to the app. Then choose which ones to add in the scheduler, so a plan's channels are not used by Pages you do not post to.
- Why can't I see my Facebook Page in the list?
- Usually you are not an admin with posting rights, the Page was not ticked on Meta's screen, or it sits in a business portfolio you cannot access. Personal profiles are not available through the publishing API.
- Why did my Instagram account disconnect when a Page did?
- An Instagram professional account connected through Facebook is reached through its linked Page. If you lose access to the Page, you lose the Instagram account behind it.
- Can a scheduler post to my personal Facebook profile?
- No. Meta's API publishes to Pages. Preflight connects Facebook Pages, and Instagram professional accounts through them.
