You can schedule a Pin on Pinterest itself, but only from a business account, up to 30 days ahead, one Pin at a time, with at most 10 Pins waiting in the schedule. Those are Pinterest's own figures from its Help Center, read on 1 November 2026. A scheduling tool lifts some of the limits, but not the way you might expect, because Pinterest's API has no publish-time field.
Pinterest's own scheduler
| Native scheduling | |
|---|---|
| Account | Business account |
| How far ahead | Up to 30 days |
| How many at once | One Pin at a time; up to 10 scheduled Pins |
| What can be scheduled | Standard Pins |
| Editable afterwards | Date, title, board, description and link; not the image or video |
| Several images on the web | Up to 10 can be picked, and each becomes its own Pin |
On a computer you create a Pin, open the scheduling option, choose the date and time and publish. The fields are the same as for any Pin: an image, a title, a description, a link and a board.
What a tool changes
Pinterest's API creates a Pin immediately. The create call has no field for a future publish time, so a scheduler does not hand the Pin to Pinterest early. It keeps the Pin and creates it at the minute you chose. That has three consequences:
- The 10-Pin and 30-day limits are Pinterest's, not the API's. A tool can hold a longer queue, and the Pin is created when its time comes.
- The scheduled Pin is not in Pinterest's own scheduled list, because Pinterest has not seen it yet. The tool's calendar is the place to look.
- The connection has to be valid at that minute. A board that was renamed or deleted, or a token that expired, makes the Pin fail then, not when you scheduled it.
Details on the fields, the boards and the access tiers are on scheduling to Pinterest and the figures on the Pinterest limits page.
In Preflight
Connect the Pinterest account, choose a board per Pin and write the post once. The first line becomes the Pin's title and the rest its description, and the same post can go to other networks at the same minute. A Pin is checked against Pinterest's rules while you type: the image size, the title's 100 characters and the description's 800. Pinterest is one channel and works on every plan, and the same Pin can be scheduled from the API.
Which route to pick
- A handful of Pins from one business account: the native scheduler is free and enough.
- More than 10 waiting, further than 30 days, several networks, or approval by a client: a scheduler.
Pinterest's limits are from its Help Center, "Schedule Pins", read on 1 November 2026. The absence of a publish-time field is from API v5 as described on the Pinterest scheduling page.
