Schedule social media posts with Claude: Preflight connector

Preflight is in Claude's connectors directory: connect it and Claude drafts, checks, schedules and publishes posts to 12 networks, every rule checked first.

Preflight is listed in Claude's connectors directory, so Claude can schedule and publish your social media posts to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord and Tumblr. You connect it once from claude.ai/directory/preflight, sign in to Preflight, and from then on you can ask Claude to draft a week of posts, check them against each network's rules, schedule them and tell you how they did. Every post Claude creates goes through the same checks as one written by hand in Preflight's composer, so a caption that is too long for Bluesky or a TikTok video without a privacy level is refused before it is sent, not after it fails.

Set it up in three steps

    1. Connect your networks in Preflight first. Open Settings in Preflight and connect the accounts you post to. Each network asks you to sign in on its own page, which Claude cannot do for you. This is the step people skip: Claude connected to an empty workspace can only tell you there is nothing to post to. If you sign up on the way from Claude, the screen that asks you to allow Claude says so and links to the page.
    2. Add Preflight to Claude. Open Preflight in the connectors directory and choose Connect. Claude sends you to Preflight to sign in, or to create a free account, and then to a consent screen that lists in plain words what Claude may do. If you have more than one workspace, pick the one Claude should work in, then press Allow.
    3. Turn it on in a chat. In a conversation, press the "+" button, open Connectors and switch Preflight on. Then ask something simple, such as "Which of my channels are connected?", to see it work.

In Claude Code the same server is one command: claude mcp add --transport http preflight https://preflight.social/mcp, then /mcp inside the session to sign in. Where the directory is not available to you, the MCP docs show how to add it as a custom connector with the URL https://preflight.social/mcp.

What Claude can do with it

The connector gives Claude 29 tools. Day to day they come down to five jobs.

    • Draft. Claude writes the captions and draft_post saves them as drafts in your composer. Drafts never go out on their own.
    • Check. validate_post runs every rule a real post would meet: text length counted the way each network counts it, hashtags, image and video format, video length and frame rate, required settings such as a Pinterest board or a TikTok privacy level, and how many posts your plan has left this month. It creates nothing.
    • Schedule or publish. create_post schedules a post for a time, puts it in your queue or publishes it now, to any mix of networks, with different text per network where you want it. Files go up through create_media_upload, so a video never passes through the chat.
    • Manage. list_posts, update_post, delete_post and retry_post cover what is waiting and what failed, with the reason in plain words.
    • Learn. post_performance, analytics_summary and list_comments read the figures and the comments, and act_on_comment can answer them.

    Prompts to start with

Which of my channels are connected, and when does each one's queue post next?

Here is our blog post. Write one caption each for LinkedIn, Bluesky and Threads in our usual tone, save them as drafts, and do not schedule anything.

Check tomorrow's post against every channel and tell me what would fail before you create it.

Schedule the three drafts from this morning into the next free queue slots. If a check fails, stop and ask me.

How did last week's posts do on each network, and which comments still need a reply? Do not reply to any.

    What keeps it safe

An assistant that posts for you should be easy to stop. Four things are enforced by Preflight, not left to the model.

    • Publishing is its own permission. On the consent screen, publishing is a separate line from writing drafts. A connection without it can draft and check but never put anything live.
    • Publishing now needs a yes. create_post refuses to publish immediately unless Claude says you confirmed it, and deleting a post needs the same.
    • No double posts. Every create_post carries an idempotency key, so a retried call returns the first post instead of publishing a second.
    • Client approval still applies. A post waiting for a client's approval does not go out at its time, whoever created it.

You can disconnect Claude at any time in Preflight's Settings, which ends its access at once.

    What it cannot do

    • Connect accounts. Networks are connected in Preflight, by you, through each network's own sign-in. Claude works with the channels that are already there.
    • Post to X or to LinkedIn Company Pages. Preflight does not publish to X, and LinkedIn means personal profiles until LinkedIn approves Pages access; see LinkedIn.
    • Send approval links, change your plan or edit queue times. Those stay in the app.
    • Go past your plan. Each channel a post goes to counts as one publish, and when the month's allowance is used up Claude is told so and stops.

    What it costs

The connector is included in every Preflight plan, Free too. Free covers 3 channels and 20 posts a month, which is enough to try the whole loop with Claude; paid plans raise the channels and posts and are on the pricing page. Claude itself is your own Anthropic subscription. For the same server in ChatGPT, see Preflight in ChatGPT, and for every assistant side by side, the guide to scheduling with Claude and ChatGPT.

    Questions people ask

Can Claude schedule social media posts?
Yes, once it is connected to a scheduler. Preflight is listed in Claude's connectors directory: connect it at claude.ai/directory/preflight, sign in, and Claude can draft, check, schedule and publish posts to twelve networks, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Bluesky.
Why does Claude say I have no channels?
Because none are connected in Preflight yet. Claude cannot connect a social account for you, since each network needs you to sign in on its own page. Open Settings in Preflight, connect the accounts, and ask Claude again.
Can Claude post without asking me?
Only if you allow it. Publishing is a separate permission on the consent screen, publishing immediately needs an explicit confirmation, and a post waiting for client approval never goes out. Leave publishing off and Claude can only write drafts for you to send.
    Is the Claude connector free?
It is included in every Preflight plan, including Free, which covers 3 channels and 20 posts a month. You need your own Claude account to use it.

Write it once. Let the rules be our problem.

Preflight checks every post against each network's rules before it leaves, then publishes it to twelve networks. Free plan, no card.
