Publer is good value and this page will not pretend otherwise: $5 for the first account, $4 for each one after, members at $2 or $3, Telegram and WordPress alongside the usual networks, a free plan for three accounts. The complaints that bring people here are specific: the bill grows with every account and every colleague, X is not on the free plan, the MCP server is still in beta and reserved, and the price page itself is hard to read because of the arithmetic.

Where each one is better than Publer
Preflight has a flat plan with a fixed number of channels, three users on Pro, and the pre-publish check Publer does not have: it validates the post against each network's actual rules (JPEG-only and 4:5 to 1.91:1 on Instagram, 23 to 60 fps on TikTok, five links on Threads) before anything is uploaded. It also takes Discord and Mastodon, which Publer does not. Publer is better on X (Preflight's X is text-only), on WordPress (Preflight has none), and it has a native mobile app.
PostFast has flat plans with generous seats (five on Creator) and Google Business Profile. No Discord or Mastodon.
Postiz is open source with a hosted option; unlimited members on Team, every community network, and the most complete agent story (CLI, MCP, skill files). The hosted price is the highest on this list short of Buffer.
Metricool wins if analytics matter more than publishing. Its brand model means one profile per network per brand, which suits a single brand well and a creator with two accounts on the same network badly.
Buffer is the only one with API and MCP on the free plan, and the only one with Substack Notes.
Where Publer stays ahead
- Per-account billing is cheaper than any flat plan below five accounts. Three accounts cost $13 on Publer Professional; Preflight's free plan takes three for nothing, but the next step is $13 for eight.
- WordPress and Google Business Profile.
- A native mobile app.
- X included on paid plans with media.
Moving
Export is the usual gap: Publer exports analytics, not a schedule. Rebuild the queue in the new tool from a CSV (Preflight's import takes text, date, time and a media URL per row), reconnect each account, and run both for a week.
