You can schedule a LinkedIn post from a personal profile between 10 minutes and 3 months ahead, and from a Company Page between 1 hour and 3 months ahead. LinkedIn does this itself on the web and in the app, for free: start a post, click the clock icon, choose a date and time, then Next and Schedule. A scheduler is for what LinkedIn does not do, such as sending the same post to other networks, a client approving it first, or a team sharing a calendar. This page gives LinkedIn's limits, where to find and edit what you scheduled, what cannot be scheduled, and how a tool schedules a LinkedIn post.
How far ahead you can schedule on LinkedIn
| Personal profile | Company Page | |
|---|---|---|
| Earliest | 10 minutes from now | 1 hour from now |
| Latest | 3 months from now | 3 months in advance |
| Time options | Date and time picker | Date and time; an exact time can be typed |
The times follow the location LinkedIn has for you. Both limits are from LinkedIn's help pages, read on 31 October 2026.
How to schedule a LinkedIn post natively
- On a computer: click Start a post, write it, click the clock icon at the lower right, pick the date and time, click Next, then Schedule. For a Page, open the Page's admin view and go to Page posts first.
- On a phone: tap Post in the navigation bar, write it, tap the clock icon at the upper right, pick the date and time, tap Next, then Schedule. For a Page, go to Dashboard, then Page posts.
- To see what is scheduled: on a computer start a post, click the clock icon and choose *View all scheduled*. On a phone tap Post, the clock icon and *View all*.
- To change or delete a scheduled profile post: open the More menu on it and choose *Modify schedule* or *Edit post*, or use the delete icon and confirm.
What LinkedIn cannot schedule
- Personal profiles: events and jobs cannot be scheduled.
- Company Pages: LinkedIn lists events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs and service posts as not schedulable. A poll therefore cannot be scheduled natively on a Page.
- Promotion: a scheduled Page post cannot be boosted from Campaign Manager until it has been published.
LinkedIn's pages do not say whether documents, videos, articles or newsletters can be scheduled, so this page does not claim it either way.
How a scheduler schedules a LinkedIn post
LinkedIn's Posts API has no publish-time field: a post is created with the state PUBLISHED and nothing else is accepted at creation. A tool therefore holds the post itself and sends it at the time you chose. Two consequences follow. The post goes out at the minute, but only if the connection to LinkedIn is still valid then, so a reconnect prompt matters more than on a native schedule. And a tool can do what the native option cannot: one post to several networks, a client's approval first, a calendar for a team.
Preflight posts to personal LinkedIn profiles today; Company Pages come after LinkedIn's review of its Community Management access, so for a Page, LinkedIn's own scheduler or a tool already approved for Pages is the route. Hashtags are turned into LinkedIn's own markup so they stay clickable, and a post is checked against LinkedIn's limits (3,000 characters, 20 images or one video) while you type. The details are on scheduling to LinkedIn and the LinkedIn limits. Scheduling works on every plan, the free one included.
LinkedIn's limits from its Help Center (profiles and Pages) and the Posts API reference, read on 31 October 2026. The statement that a tool holds the post follows from the API accepting only PUBLISHED at creation.
